Water Heater Maintenance
Houston homeowners rely on their hot water heaters to be ready when they are. One way to help keep your hot water heater in good condition is to perform yearly maintenance.
Church Services customers who are already Priority Members can add an annual plumbing inspection for just $70.00.
We will drain your water heater during the annual plumbing inspection and save you the hassle. There may be some conditions where an older water heater can't be drained or shouldn't be drained due to its condition or possible valve damage. Check with our plumbing department if you have questions or concerns.

Want to drain your water heater yourself?
If you want to try and drain your water heater yourself, consult your water heater instruction booklet. Every new water heater comes with instructions and each manufacturer recommends an annual draining.
Often times homeowners think it would be more convenient or less costly to drain their water heater themselves. However, sometimes there are things that could go wrong that would make you wish you had hired a trained professional.
Reasons to have a plumber drain your water heater:
-
Sometimes the valve will not close all the way, causing a very large leak. If this happens to you, you'll probably wind up calling Church Services anyway.
-
The valve sometimes has become corroded and may even break off of the unit. This could end up costing you an entire new water heater whereas if Church Services drained your water heater for you, we could fix it immediately without the need of ordering a new water heater.
-
Dealing with the source of your hot water, there is always a chance you could get burned from trying to drain it yourself.
-
You may start to work on your water heater and find you don't have the right tools and then regret not calling Church Services out to do the dirty work for you.
-
If your water heater is located in the attic, and for some reason there is a leak somewhere during the draining process you could cause major structural damage to your home.
