Welcome to Houston! Sunshine is king, humidity is queen and together they breed some nasty little critters that are marksmen at home invasions. Sometimes it’s hard for us Houston residents to tell the difference between our unwanted house guests. Let’s face it they all practically look the same from a safe distance. We’re going to try to unmask one of man’s 10 most wanted foes, the Termite.
Termites thrive on attempting to eat our houses without the common courtesy of at least sending a save the date card. Before we know it, the damage is done and often very costly to repair. Houston homeowners often think they have termites when really it is an ant invasion. Termite swarmers and ant swarmers look completely identical from a distance while they are in the heat of the moment. But when things settle down, that’s when it’s easier to tell what you really have on your hands.
There are 3 major differences between termite and ant swarmers.

While it’s not fun to have either of these pests invading your property, it’s very beneficial to know what you’re dealing with. So if you think you have termite swarmers, make sure to check their antennae, wing size and body segments to make sure you’re not dealing with an ant infestation instead. Church Services pest control division will provide a no cost termite inspection if you call 713-722-5000.
